Prayer

Brother losing his battle with brain cancer.

Shalom,

My brother has been fighting a malignant brain tumor since September 2007. It has been a long hard fight. The hospital last week released him because there was nothing more that they could do for him. He is at his home. He needs round the clock care. His wife and immediate family provide this care in shifts. His most pressing problem is that his brain has forgotten how to tell him how to swallow without it going into his lungs. This causes him to basicly choke on his own saliva. We try to aliviate this by using a suction pump that home health care has provided to suction his mouth when we notice it building up. This has to be done every few minutes. It is very scary for all involved. He also has two small children. A nine year old and a six year old. To add to the pressure of everything, his home was also recently damaged by hurricane Ike while he was in the hospital.

My husband and family and with us

Please pray for my husband, myself,15 yr old son and my family we are under much stress. It is unbelievable we have been through many challenges in our life already. In the earlier days we could go to the church and ask for prayer but since studying and knowing/observing Torah that was gone long ago. We live in a wilderness and I have two observant women friends. Everyone else thinks we are weird. Due to the economics of our time and probably our own mistakes in running business we believed it was right to help everyone around us,parents, grown sons and families, sisters, brothers, friends, yes and strangers. In the last years we have paid taxes in excess of a hundred thousand dollars and have never tried to avoid responsibility. My husband has been right to do these things and I stood by him all the way and we were prosperous. We have gone through troubles before we are familiar with stress in the past and God delivered us through it all.

Last update on Mother in law

I would like to thank all the brethren that prayed for my mother in law's quick recovery from total knee replacement surgery. She is doing wonderful and is walking without a cane and will be able to resume playing golf very shortly.
Thank you,
Priscilla

Prayer for aunt with metastatic thyroid cancer

My paternal aunt, Betty, has been fighting thyroid cancer for several years. Last year it spread to her trachea and was thus undergoing chemotherapy. Today I've learned that it has spread to her brain. I don't know what the prognosis is, what I do know is that the LORD can heal her. Please join with me and help me to bring this prayer up to the throne of the ALMIGHTY.

Blessings,
Priscilla

A Friend in Need

Please pray that God provides a car for my co-worker and friend, Johana. Her car quit on Tuesday night and cannot be fixed. She is a single mom and has a 14 year old boy to support. She has no money in which to get another car as she barely has enough from her paycheck to take care of rent, utilities and food. She works a full time job during the week and also a part time job on the weekend. She's worried she'll be facing homelessness if she doesn't have a car soon as she will lose her jobs and not be able to provide for herself or her boy. If I had the money, I would buy her a car but unfortunately I struggle as much as she does financially. We live in different towns so we are unable to carpool. I've loaned her my car for the time being as I am on the bus line and can take a bus to work until she finds a car. However, my car is not in the best shape either and is not dependable.
