Planning for Sukkot 2007
If you are planning on joining us for Lion and Lamb Ministries' Tabernacles 2007 - Prepare the Way, here are some other items that you might what to consider in your personal plans.
1. Nearby Motels.
If you are planning on staying in a nearby motel, there are two located in Chandler: the Econolodge (405) 258-2131 and the Lincoln Motel (405) 258-0200 and one in nearby Stroud, the Best Western Stroud Motor Lodge (918) 968-9515 located about 15 miles east. You will need to make your own reservations.
2. Renting an RV.
If you are renting a travel trailer, check the internet for possible vendors. Please do not call Lion and Lamb Ministries for recommendation. We are able to assist you. But do let us know if you are renting. We need to know about your rental agreement so they will be let into the camp and directed to your planned campsite. NOTE: Because of previous difficulties, trailers rented from Rent A RV Now will not be permitted in our campground.
3. Children and Youth Programs Ages.
Ages for children’s and youth activities for Full Time Campers are defined as the age on the first day of Tabernacles (September 26, 2007). Children three years and under are free, however they still need to be registered. Children age 4 to 12 are automatically enrolled in the children’s program and will receive a program T-shirt. Youth, ages 13 to 18, are automatically enrolled in the youth program and will receive a program T-shirt. (Make sure to select the desired sizes on the registration form.)
4. Adult Tabernacles T-shirts.
Adults may order T-shirts for themselves from any of the 3 designs, but they must be purchased separately (see the form for details). You may order directly from the registration form (guaranteeing availability) or purchase them from the Messianic Marketplace (if available).
5. Pets.
It would be better if you could make arrangements for your pet to stay at home. But, if you cannot leave your pet, here are our simple rules. There will be no pets in Area C (the main area) except for very small pets kept inside an RV unit. If your pet stays only in your RV with you, then you may request to camp in Area C. Pets may not be kept in a tent in Area C. Your pet cannot be taken to any activity in Area C. This includes the dining, teaching, marketplace, and main assembly areas. Dogs on a leash that remain quiet may be kept in Area A – the Pet Zone camping area.
6. Arriving Early and Staying Late (Set-up and Tear-down Volunteers).
Please note that we need your arrival and departure dates. This will enable us to position you in a shared campsite correctly. For those of you who would like to come a little early (prior to September 26) or stay a little later (after October 4), there will be a $16 per day fee for your RV campsite and $8 per day for tent site and you will be required to volunteer in camp set-up or tear-down. We do not want visitors in the camp before or after, but volunteers who will help us are welcome. You must call Phil at the office (405) 447-4429 to coordinate your role as one of our set-up or tear-down volunteer helpers.
7. Regular Volunteers.
During the camp operation, September 26 through October 4, each able-bodied adult is expected to participate as a volunteer in some function of the camp. We need men to assist with our security program. We need helpers for the kitchen team. Youth, in particular, can help serve the evening meal and help with the children’s program. The Washroom Warriors keep our camp facilities clean and proper for all of us at the shower houses. Toddler Care can use moms who can assist. Parents of children are expected to assist at least once in the children’s program. This is a participation camp and the greatest blessing is your volunteer contribution.
8. Financial Assistance.
If you need to request financial assistance to attend Tabernacles, then you must make a good faith first effort to meet the need and make your request in writing. Call the office for more details (405) 447-4429.
